St. Patrick’s Day 2026: Your Guide To Fun In Maryland

There are several St. Patrick's Day parades being held in communities across Maryland, as well as live music, crafts, activities and more.

Marylanders who plan to join in the global celebration of Irish culture can choose from big and small events, including parades in Annapolis and Gaithersburg on separate weekends.

The March 17 holiday falls on a Tuesday this year, and many big events will be held the weekend of March 14-15. Originally a modest, religious feast day honoring the patron saint of Ireland, St. Patrick’s Day today is a vibrant, boisterous holiday observed by millions of people regardless of their heritage.

Annapolis will holds its annual parade March 8 with 85 groups taking part; events will kick off at 1 p.m. on West Street at Amos Garrett Boulevard and is expected to take place over the course of 2.5 hours.

The 24th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Gaithersburg on March 14 features Celtic dancers, bagpipe bands, school groups, fire trucks, equestrian units, community organizations and more. The parade in Gaithersburg kicks off at 10 a.m. followed by the Shamrock Stroll, which takes guests to all the local stores offering specials for the holiday. There will be live music and activities around the lakefront, too.

There are also parades in Ocean City and Baltimore.
