The flags will be lowered on Friday, October 11 until Monday, October 14.

Harford County Executive Bob Cassilly has ordered the State and Harford County flags be flown at half-staff in honor of Senator Cathy I. Riley, who died September 30, 2024. The flags will be lowered on Friday, October 11 until Monday, October 14. The life-long Bel Air resident represented Harford County in the Maryland House of Delegates from 1975 to 1982, and in the Maryland Senate from 1983 to 1990. In 1995, she worked with Governor Glendening on his legislative lobbying team. She was appointed by him in 1999 to serve on the Maryland Public Service Commission and headed it in 2000.

“We are grateful for Senator Riley’s many years of dedicated service to the citizens of Harford County and the State of Maryland,” County Executive Bob Cassilly said.
