State Farm Donates $15,000 to LASOS

Washington, D.C. - State Farm presented a $15,000 grant to LASOS in Harford County, Maryland to support its youth mentoring programs, to increase financial literacy, and promote safe driving habits among its students.
LASOS - Linking All So Others Succeed- is a non-profit organization that provides adult literacy classes in civics, financial literacy, technology, citizenship, at risk youth mentoring and family literacy programs for non-English speaking residents in Harford County. The grant was presented by State Farm Agent Kyle Tomlinson at the 5th annual Celebration of Cultures event which featured a wide variety of performances and activities.
Melynda Velez, Executive Director,said, “We are so appreciative of State Farm’s support and of their agent’s encouragement. Kyle was instrumental in making us aware of this opportunity and he has been invaluable in educating our youth as well as adult members.”
“LASOS is helping students across Harford County by giving them the tools they need to be successful in school, “said Mr. Tomlinson. “At State Farm, we believe all children deserve an education that will help them reach their greatest potential and prepare them for life.”
