Stay Indoors: Severe Thunderstorm Warning in Effect in Maryland
BREAKING: The National Weather Service issued warning for wind, lightning in multiple jurisdictions across Maryland Sunday night.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for parts of Maryland from 10:30 to 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 12. People in the following areas are advised to stay indoors: Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Frederick, Harford, Howard and Montgomery counties as well as Baltimore City.
Wind gusts of 60 mph are possible, weather officials said at 10:30 p.m. Trees and branches may fall, blocking roads and damaging vehicles. Objects that have not been secured outside may become airborne.
Power outages are also possible, according to the severe thunderstorm warning.

Authorities said that severe thunderstorms were near Hampstead at 10:46 p.m., headed east at 55 mph.
Weather officials advise people to stay inside until the threat of wind and lightning has passed, in an interior room on the lowest floor away from trees. Drivers should avoid passing underneath trees or wooded areas.

According to the National Weather Service, locations impacted include Baltimore, Columbia, Germantown, Severn, Olney, Pikesville, Middle River, Cockeysville, Elkridge, Damascus, Aberdeen, Havre de Grace,
Riviera Beach, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Baltimore-Washington Airport, Fort Smallwood State Park, Gibson Island, Sillery Bay, Millers Island and North Point State Park.
A high wind warning has also been issued from 11 p.m. Sunday to 6 p.m. Monday.
