Strange Odor in Forest Hill Draws Hazmat Personnel

An odor in the fertilizer department at a Forest Hill lumber company brought the Harford County hazmat team in for an investigation Wednesday evening, according to Harford County emergency officials.

Before 6 p.m., crews from the Jarrettsville and Bel Air volunteer fire companies responded to the 1300 block of West Jarrettsville Road, where hazardous materials personnel were also called to check out a smell at Keafauver Lumber, said Jenn Chenworth, spokeswoman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.

According to Chenworth, there were no injuries and the investigation was ongoing.
