Harford Community College is presenting a concert featuring Pianist Chad R. Bowles on Sunday, April 10, at 3 PM, in the College’s Joppa Hall, Recital Hall #1.
Bowles has performed across the United States, Canada, and Europe in such venues as the Richard Nixon Presidential Library (Yorba Linda, CA) and the Kennedy Center (Washington, DC). He has performed widely not only as a soloist but as a chamber musician, appearing with members of the Baltimore and New World Symphony Orchestras. In addition, he has recorded CDs with JRI Recordings. His second recording for JRI features Richard Strauss’ Enoch Arden with Bass-Baritone David Ripley. Less than a month after its release, it was named one of World Magazine's 'Notable CDs' of 2010.
A New England native, Bowles earned a bachelor’s degree in piano performance from the University of New Hampshire and both a master’s degree and graduate performance diploma from the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore. He is chair of the Piano Department at Peabody Preparatory and the co-director of the Peabody Piano Academy, a program for the Preparatory’s most elite piano students.
