Suspect Arrested In July 4 Shootings During Group Fight: Harford County Sheriff

A suspect has been arrested and charged in connection to shootings that happened during a group fight on the Fourth of July in Edgewood.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A man has been charged in connection to the July 4 shooting in Edgewood.

On July 4 at approximately 4:12 p.m., deputies assigned to the Southern Precinct of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 600 block of Edgewood Road for the report of a shooting. Deputies found Rayvon Perry, 21, of Aberdeen near the Royal Farms with a gunshot wound to the lower body. Deputies immediately rendered first aid until medics arrived and transported Perry to a local trauma center, according to the sheriff's office.

Three additional victims identified as Cameron Ward, 21, of Edgewood, and two male 17-year-olds, 17, showed up at different area hospitals seeking medical attention for gunshot wounds. The investigation indicated the shooting occurred in the 600 block of Harr Park Court, where a group had gathered. A fight broke out and multiple gunshots caused the crowd to disperse but not without injuries, the sheriff's office noted.

Detectives were able to identify a suspect, Dwayne Aaron Johnson, 39, of Edgewood. On Oct. 5, an arrest warrant was obtained by detectives for Johnson charging him with attempted first- and second-degree murder. He was taken into custody without incident when deputies executed the arrest warrant.
