Suspect Found In Bel Air Shooting With The Help Of A Drone: Harford County Sheriff

The suspect in a Bel Air shooting was found shortly after the incident with the help of an officer-guided drone, the sheriff's office said.

BEL AIR, MD — A North East man has been arrested in connection to a shooting that happened Wednesday morning in Bel Air.

On April 10 at approximately 5:53 a.m., deputies were called to the 200 block of Highland Road for the report of a shooting. They found a woman with a gunshot wound to her lower body. Harford County Medics arrived but the woman refused treatment, according to the sheriff's office.

Within minutes of arriving on the scene, a Harford County Sheriff’s Office drone was launched to help with the search for the suspect. Deputies using the drone found 31-year-old Joshua Brewsterhiding under a tree behind apartments in the 300 block of Sunflower Drive. He was arrested and taken into custody, according to the sheriff's office.

The preliminary investigation indicates that Brewster confronted the woman as she walked into the breezeway of her home. He threatened her with a gun and demanded she turn around and place her hands behind her back. A second victim, hearing the commotion, walked into the breezeway and confronted Brewster who ran off. While he was running, Brewster fired a shot toward the house and hit the woman, the sheriff's office reported.

Detectives also learned that Brewster was the suspect in an attempted burglary earlier that morning around 2:30 a.m. in the 600 block of Hanna Road. He has been charged with two counts of attempted murder and illegal possession of a firearm.
