Suspicious Metal Box Investigated As Bomb Threat In Harford Co., People Sheltered In Place
The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Bomb Squad investigated suspicious packages in both Harford and Cecil counties at the same time Thursday.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A suspicious package was found around 10 a.m. Thursday in the area of Route 7/Philadelphia Road and Four Seasons Drive in Abingdon.
Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Bomb Squad was summoned to the site and area residents were ordered to shelter in place. They weren't allowed to enter or leave the area.
According to the state fire marshal, bomb technicians safely opened the suspicious metal box and found ammunition, an inert grenade and a device requiring an X-ray.

Experts safely dismantled the package and according to the Harford County Police Department, the Office of the State Fire Marshal will investigate the incident.
The State Fire Marshal's Office noted that it had squads responding simultaneously to incidents in Harford and Cecil counties.
