Suspected Craigslist Scammer Charged
Police said teen used counterfeit money to buy PlayStation, pulled gun on seller in Harford County.

EDGEWOOD, MD — A Baltimore teen was charged as an adult in connection with a recent Craigslist buy gone awry in Edgewood, according to Maryland State Police.
Police said that the seller of an Xbox and PlayStation posted the items on Craiglist and was telephoned by a potential buyer; then they texted to arrange a meeting at the BP in the 2200 block of Pulaski Highway.
Before 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan, 2, police were called to the gas station, where the seller was given a counterfeit $50 bill for the consoles, according to Maryland State Police. When the seller confronted the buyer about being short-changed, police said the man and his associate revealed a handgun and threatened to shoot.

Donnell Corey Baker, 17, of the 5000 block of The Alameda, was being held at the Harford County Detention Center Monday after authorities said they identified him as the gunman in the armed robbery outside the Edgewood BP Saturday night.
A small caliber revolver and the victim’s Xbox were found in the residence where Baker was staying in The Alameda when police served a search and seizure warrant after 7 a.m. on Monday, according to officials.

Baker was charged with armed robbery, robbery, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and theft under $1,000.
He was being held on $150,000 bond at the Harford County Detention Center.
