'Tackle The Tartar' Fundraiser To Help Pets At The Humane Society Of Harford County
Help the Humane Society of Harford County raise funds to purchase dental tools for the pets residing at the shelter.
HARFORD COUNTY, MD — In time for Giving Tuesday, the Humane Society of Harford County will be holding a fundraiser called Tackle the Tartar.
The fundraiser will help provide dental services for pets living at the shelter with a goal of $36,000 to purchase dental equipment like a dental table, dental X-ray machine and a high-powered light to polish teeth.
"Here at the shelter, we see many cases of dental disease, a painful condition that occurs when bacteria, plaque and tartar build up on the teeth and get trapped beneath the gum line," the organization said in a news release. "The bacteria can be absorbed into the bloodstream and wreak havoc on other major organs throughout the body."
