Teen Who Stabbed Brother Charged With Murder: Harford Sheriff

The 15-year-old from Belcamp has been denied bail in connection with the fatal stabbing of his brother.

BEL AIR, MD — A 15-year-old from Belcamp was charged with first- and second-degree murder, among other offenses, in connection with the death of his brother. The two got into an argument Thursday afternoon when authorities allege the 15-year-old stabbed his brother in the upper body.

Tylek Dayvon Williams, 15, of the 1300 block of Jervis Square, has been charged with the following offenses, officials reported Friday morning:

  • First-degree murder
  • Second-degree murder
  • First-degree assault
  • Second-degree assault
  • Possession of a dangerous weapon with intent to injure
  • Reckless endangerment

Williams is being held without bail at the Harford County Detention Center.

The charges stem from what officials say began with an argument.

At 2:35 p.m. on Thursday, deputies from the southern precinct were dispatched to the 1300 block of Jervis Square in Belcamp for a reported stabbing.

Officers found Gary Bernard Williams, 18, stabbed in the upper body and immediately provided first aid until medics arrived and took him to the hospital, according to the sheriff's office. He was taken to University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased, according to authorities.

His younger brother, Tylek Dayvon Williams, was taken into custody and was denied bail. Court records show he has a bail review scheduled for Oct. 29 and a preliminary hearing in the case on Nov. 8 in Harford County District Court.
