Therese 'Terri' F. Johnson, 83, Of Bel Air

Therese "Terri" F. Johnson, 83, of Bel Air, passed away on Sept. 22, 2017, at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air. Born in Troy, New York, she was the daughter of Frank Van Der Werken and Eva Marie Van Der Werken and wife of the late Robert H. Johnson.

She was a teacher at Homestead Wakefield Elementary School for over 28 years, retiring October 23, 1995. Early in her career she was involved with The John Archer School where she was active in tutoring children with learning disabilities, specializing in dyslexia. Following her retirement, she was an active member of Christ our King Presbyterian Church, where she volunteered for countless hours. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed birding and loved her cats.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by her children, Kirsten A. Zubko of Wallingford, PA, Roberta F. Wagner, Michael R. Johnson and Amy L. Steiner, all of Bel Air; and grandchildren, Steven Steiner, Christina Steiner, Tyler E. Wagner and Zachary R. Wagner.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 27, at Christ Our King Presbyterian Church, 10 Lexington Road, Bel Air, MD 21014. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. at Christ Our King Presbyterian Church, 10 Lexington Road, Bel Air, MD 21014. A luncheon will be held after service and all are invited.
