Tom Louis McCarthy Sr., 69

Thomas (“Tom”) Louis McCarthy Sr., loving husband, father, and brother, passed away on Jan. 9, 2018 at the age of 69. Born on Feb. 1, 1948, in Philadelphia, Tom served in the United States Marine Corps for over 20 years, was a veteran of the Vietnam War, and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel.

Tom worked for the United States Postal Service for over 45 years.

He is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 48 years, Linda; six children: Lisa, Jill, Thomas and wife Megan, David and wife Jennifer, Katie and husband Jason, and Kristi; seven grandchildren: Ryan, Brianna, Nathan, Jacob, Chloe, Trent and Noah; two brothers: Dennis and Jeffrey; and several nieces and nephews. Tom will be best remembered for his good-natured personality, great sense of humor, and dedication to his family.

Visitation will be Monday, Jan., 15 from 2-5 p.m. at McComas Funeral Home, 50 W. Broadway, Bel Air, MD. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Jan. 16, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 533 East Jarrettsville Rd. Forest Hill, MD.
