Town Hall To Discuss Harford Co. Schools Reopening Plan Postponed

The meeting, which will review the draft of a plan for proposed learning options, is scheduled for Thursday after changes have been made.

BEL AIR, MD — A town hall meeting that had been scheduled for Wednesday night to discuss a draft of the Harford County Schools recovery plan has been postponed until Thursday, school officials have announced.

On Monday night, Superintendent Sean Burlson told the Board of Education that there is still no perfect answer to what learning will look like across the district once school begins in the fall.

Last week, the district released a draft of its recovery plan, which is based on guidance from Gov. Larry Hogan and State Superintendent of Schools Karen Salmon. A final version of the plan is scheduled to be released in August, but as of now, the plan allows for three different options for school to be held, including a full virtual schedule, a hybrid of in-person and remote learning and an option in which schools would be open but parents would have the option to have their students learn remotely.
