Traffic Alert: Medevac Called to Crash on Route 40 in Abingdon

A helicopter was landing on road to pick up patient, Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS spokeswoman reported.

Part of Route 40 was closed in Abingdon Wednesday morning for nearly an hour as a helicopter landed to pick up a patient involved in a crash, Harford County emergency personnel report.

As of approximately 8 a.m., Route 40 had reopened in the area, according to WBAL.

The collision occurred at 7 a.m. on Route 40 near B and O Road, according to Jennifer Chenworth, spokeswoman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.

A medevac was landing on Route 40 at 7:15 a.m., and the road was closed to eastbound traffic in the area, she said.
