Traffic Delays Expected Around Funeral For Senator Wayne Norman

The Harford County Sheriff's Office has issued a traffic advisory for Thursday and Friday in Joppa.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — There may be delays around Mountain Christian Church in Joppa on Thursday, March 8, and Friday, March 9. Traffic is expected to be heavier than normal due to the funeral service and procession for Maryland Senator Wayne Norman.

Delays are expected from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, March 9, near Mountain Christian Church. There will be several road closures to accommodate the funeral procession, the Harford County Sheriff's Office reports.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 9, at Mountain Christian Church, 1824 Mountain Road Joppa, MD 21085.

Following the service, the funeral procession will leave Mountain Christian Church and travel to Bel Air Memorial Gardens at 809 Rock Spring Road in Bel Air.

Traffic delays should be expected on Mountain Road/MD 152, in particular, according to the sheriff's office.

From the church at 1824 Mountain Road, the procession will travel north onto Belair Road and north on the Bel Air Bypass, then turn right onto Conowingo Road and right onto Moores Mill Road to the final destination of 809 Rock Spring Road.

Officials say that Moores Mill Road will be closed between Rock Spring Road and Old Orchard Road for the duration of the interment at the cemetery.
