Trooper Involved in Crash Outside Bel Air Barrack: Police

Police said a Maryland state trooper was taken to a local hospital following collision.

A state trooper was involved in a two-vehicle crash outside the Bel Air Barrack Tuesday evening, authorities say.

The collision occurred at approximately 6:03 p.m. in front of the Maryland State Police barrack in the 1400 block of Belair Road, according to Police Communications Officer Hoffman.

The marked police car and a rented box truck were involved in the crash, according to Hoffman.

The trooper was taken to a local hospital by ambulance with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening, Hoffman said.

The driver of the second vehicle was not transported, according to Hoffman.

Traffic was temporarily diverted but as of 7 p.m. the road was open, he said.

There was no information available regarding the cause of the crash.
