Troopers Salute Fallen Maryland Soldier On I-95

Sgt. Eric Houck was taken by motorcade from Delaware to Bel Air over the weekend.

State troopers created a "line of honor" for the motorcade escorting the Perry Hall soldier from Dover Air Force Base to Schimunek Funeral Home in Bel Air over the weekend.

Friends and family paid their respects to Sgt. Eric M. Houck, 25, during a visitation at the Bel Air funeral home Saturday morning.

Houck was one of three soldiers killed June 10 in Afghanistan in an insider attack for which the Taliban said it was responsible.

Troopers from the JFK and North East Barracks along with members of the Perryville Police Department, Cecil County Sheriff's Office and Maryland Transportation Authority Police participated in the line of honor at the JFK barracks on Saturday morning. The salute took place at approximately 9:30 a.m. at 15 Turnpike Drive on I-95 south in Perryville on Saturday, according to Maryland State Police.
