Two Bel Air High Schools Compete for $100K, Country Concert
Support Bel Air contestants by pledging online to practice safe driving.

Two Bel Air schools began collecting online votes Wednesday in a competition to raise awareness about safe driving.
State Farm Insurance is sponsoring the national “Celebrate My Drive” competition, which runs from Oct. 15 to 24 and coincides with National Teen Driver Safety Week. More teens die from crashes than any other cause, according to State Farm.
Until Oct. 24, Patterson Mill High School and C. Milton Wright are participating in the online contest.

As of noon on Wednesday, neither was on the “top 50” list of schools with the most online pledges so far.
Citizens can support their school of choice by voting online. Users are asked to answer two multiple-choice questions, which reinforce safe driving practices and act as a safe driving pledge.

State Farm will issue 90 grants of $25,000 and ten grants of $100,000 to schools with the most votes. The two schools with the most votes will receive a private concert by Grammy award-winning country stars The Band Perry, whose single “If I Die Young” went quadruple platinum after its 2010 release.
