Vacant House Fire In Abingdon Under Investigation
A house fire broke out near Box Hill Monday night, according to authorities.

ABINGDON, MD — A fire at a vacant home in Abingdon is under investigation, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
Crews from APG, Abingdon, Bel Air and Joppa were among those responding to the blaze in the 3300 block of Emmorton Road behind the Giant, the fire marshal said.
The vacant house was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived before 9:30 p.m. to a report of a structure fire, according to the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company.

The fire caused $500 in damage and took firefighters about 10 minutes to snuff out, The Aegis reported.
Crews were readying to clear the scene after 11 p.m., according to the fire marshal.
