JOPPA, MD — A vacant home often targeted for acts of vandalism was set on fire Feb. 17.

A neighbor discovered the fire around 6:27 p.m. Feb. 17. The one-story single family home owned by Albert Bierman burned for 20 minutes before 44 firefighters with the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company extinguished it, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

The home located at 3447 Dorothy Avenue in Joppa sustained $50,000 in damage. The incident is under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call 410-386-3050.
