Vaccaro's Closes At Harford Mall In Bel Air
The Italian bakery beloved for its gelato, cannolis and other specialties has shuttered its Harford County location.

BEL AIR, MD — Vaccaro's has closed in Harford Mall. The Italian bakery shuttered Tuesday, the final day of 2019. It had been known for its cannolis, gelato and other sweet and savory items.
Three other stores remain open in the Baltimore area, and the company reported those locations — in Little Italy, Canton and Hunt Valley — will absorb the employees from Bel Air.
"Please continue to frequent our other locations as our 90 employees count on you," Vaccaro's posted. "Thank you for the years in Bel Air."

The Bel Air Vaccaro's opened in 2009. Approaching its one-year anniversary, the manager told Bel Air Patch in a 2010 interview that many east Baltimore residents who grew up with Vaccaro's had moved north to Harford County, where the demographics were also appealing.
"We are very sad to close this chapter, and it happened very quickly," Vaccaro's reported on Facebook days before closing. "We did not want to close the store however we cannot afford to keep the location running and the mall has signed a new lease for our space."

In spite of the closure, Vaccaro's reported: "We are leaving on good terms with Harford Mall."
There was no information about what will be coming to the space where Vaccaro's was located, between Five Guys and Pure Raw Juice, which opened in October.
Another tenant that has been with Harford Mall for a long time will also be leaving. Sears is slated to close in mid February.
