Vehicle Hits Pole in Abingdon, Road Closed: Officials

Some lost power after crash snapped utility pole on Philadelphia Road.

ABINGDON, MD – Authorities say Philadelphia Road will be closed for six to seven hours Saturday after a car crashed into a pole.

Nobody was injured in the collision, which took place at approximately 12:45 p.m. on Philadelphia Road near Amedoro Court—just south of Abingdon Road—according to Jenn Chenworth, spokeswoman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.

The pole snapped, and wires came down in the area, Chenworth said. Because of the road hazard, Philadelphia Road will be closed for six to seven hours, she reported after 2 p.m.
