Victim Airlifted After Armed Robbery in Belcamp: Sheriff

Gas station employee was injured in a struggle with robbery suspect, the Harford County Sheriff's Office reported.

Authorities are looking for the suspect in an armed robbery that left an employee in Belcamp injured Friday afternoon, the Harford County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The victim, who had been working at Sunoco in the 1300 block of Riverside Parkway, was flown by Maryland State Police helicopter to shock trauma, the report said.

Deputies and state troopers responded at 1:46 p.m. to the report of an armed robbery at the Sunoco, where officials said a man with a handgun went into the store and demanded money.

“The suspect assaulted an employee with the handgun and a struggle ensued, injuring the store employee,” the Harford County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

According to sheriff’s office spokeswoman Cristie Kahler, the victim’s injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

There was not any confirmation of a gunshot wound, she told Patch.

The suspect was still at large Friday evening, according to the sheriff’s office.

Officials searched the area using a K-9 unit and Baltimore County Police helicopter but did not locate the suspect, who was described as a black man wearing plaid shorts, a black shirt and a baseball hat, the sheriff’s office reported.

A cash reward of up to $2,000 is being offered for information about the suspect.
