123 Smoke Alarms Installed in Edgewood
First responders went door-to-door over the weekend.
In two hours, Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company volunteers helped Edgewood residents stay a little safer.
During an effort to ensure residents had properly working smoke detectors, approximately 36 firefighters knocked on doors at 234 homes, according to the Harford County Office of Emergency Management.
By the end of the effort on Saturday, they had installed 123 smoke alarms, emergency management reported.

"The initiative was part of county government's efforts to help improve quality of life and public safety in the greater Edgewood community," according to Harford County Office of Emergency Management, which provided free smoke detectors to citizens.
