HARFORD COUNTY, MD — The water feature found at the Chesapeake Sensory Plaza at Bel Air's Rockfield Park has opened for the season.

On May 13, children and families could be found enjoying the water feature, which debuted in 2020. The water feature is designed to mimic how water flows through the Chesapeake Bay watershed down to the estuary itself. The watershed, a network of creeks, rivers and streams that drain into the Bay, covers six states, including New York, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland and Delaware.

While visiting the water feature, children and families can learn about the Chesapeake Bay and the wildlife there, including blue crabs, rockfish and oysters.
