At Least 25 Water Rescues In Harford County Reported During Storm
Crews from around the region were called to assist after more than two dozen water rescue calls were received Friday in Harford County.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Dozens of water rescues were required in Harford County Friday night as roads and bridges became saturated and seemingly disappeared. Because of the number of flooded or damaged roads, the Harford County Department of Emergency Services asked residents to stay inside until the waters recede.
There were 25 swift water rescue calls that had been reported by 9 p.m., said Rich Gardiner, spokesman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.
Three people who had been swept up in the flood waters had not been located, and Maryland State Police said the search was resuming at 7 a.m. Saturday.

UPDATE: 3 May Be Missing In Flash Floods In Harford County
Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan said Saturday morning that he and First Lady Yumi Hogan were praying for the people who were missing, and the state "continues to offer any support necessary" to Harford County.

Swift water rescue teams from Anne Arundel, Howard and Carroll counties as well as Baltimore City and Chester County, Pennsylvania, were requested to assist Harford County crews.
Overnight, Harford County opened an emergency information line for those with storm-related reports and questions. Before 7 a.m. Saturday, county officials said the line had been closed.

Amid the storms, more than 1,100 people were without power in Harford County, according to BGE.
A flood warning was in effect until 12:15 a.m. Saturday. During a flood warning, flooding is imminent or occurring. Drivers should turn around if they come across flooded roads, and pedestrians should not attempt to walk through flood waters.

Water Rescues Reported In Bel Air, Riverside, Darlington
The Harford County Technical Rescue Team was working on an open water rescue in the Susquehanna River in Darlington at 9:30 p.m., according to Rich Gardiner, spokesman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association. He said there were "reports of cries for help coming from the river just off Glen Cove."
There was also heavy damage to the Glen Cove Marina, where he said vessels had gone missing amid the storm.
Two people may have been caught up in the waters on James Run Road, Gardiner said, and crews were still searching for them. Bridges in that area and Darlington have been washed out, he added.
The search around James Run Road at Calvary Road was resuming at 7 a.m. Saturday for a woman who washed away trying to help two people in a disabled vehicle, which also was swept up in the flood waters, said Maryland State Police.
UPDATE: 3 May Be Missing In Flash Floods In Harford County
Approximately 25 swift water calls had been received in Harford County by 9 p.m., officials said.
There were three active rescue incidents in the Riverside area involving vehicles or people in high water as of 7:30 p.m., and Gardiner said that nobody had been injured.
There were at least three water rescues in progress in Bel Air and Darlington as of 6 p.m., he reported earlier.
The rescues at 6 p.m.were in these areas, Gardiner said:
- 1600 block of Trappe Church Road
- 1500 block of Arena Road
- 3200 block of Conowingo Road
- 600 block of East Macphail Road
The Darlington Volunteer Fire Company reported that multiple homes were being overtaken by water, and rescues were in progress.
