Weapons Firing At Aberdeen Proving Ground Prompts Alert

Testing of military equipment may be seen or heard outside Aberdeen Proving Ground this week, officials say.

ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, MD — Neighbors of Aberdeen Proving Ground may see and hear testing-related activities this week, according to a statement from APG.

The military installation — which tests weapons, other equipment and electronics for the military — has scheduled daytime and nighttime firing Monday through Friday.

Community members may see watercraft and illumination devices during the testing, slated for 8:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., officials said. They may also hear noise around APG from the firing, according to authorities.

During testing, APG leaders say they monitor the weather and noise readings continuously.
