WEATHER ALERT: Bel Air to Feel Like 10 Below

A wind chill advisory is in effect for Harford County until 10 a.m. Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

A wind chill advisory means that strong winds and cold temperatures may create low wind chill values that require taking precautions to prevent hypothermia and frostbite, the advisory states.

Wind chills may cause it to feel like 10 degrees below freezing, according to the advisory.

People should wear a hat and gloves if they must go outside.

Weekend Wind Chill Could Go to 25 Below Freezing

The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill watch from midnight to noon Sunday, stating that temperatures could feel like 15 to 25 degrees below freezing.

That National Weather Service also issued a high wind watch from Saturday night to Sunday morning.

Forecasters say damaging gusts between 40 to 60 mph may take down trees and power lines, and people are advised to prepare for outages.
