Harford Schools Update Weather Decision For Classes Tuesday
Harford County Public Schools has updated its weather decision for classes Tuesday. A winter weather advisory has been issued by the NWS.
Updated 8 a.m. Tuesday HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Harford County Public Schools will have virtual classes Tuesday.
Classes will be asynchronous, meaning the online lessons will be pre-recorded and not live with a teacher. Modules will be posted for students by 9 a.m.
After school and evening activities will not be held Tuesday.

Buildings will be closed, so employees are expected to work remotely when possible. Essential personnel should await further instructions from their bosses.
School officials reevaluated weather and road conditions around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday and announced the changes.

Originally, the district planned to open two hours late Tuesday with no morning pre-kindergarten or before-school childcare.
A winter weather advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for all or parts of Baltimore, Howard, Carroll and Harford counties, plus the city of Frederick.
The advisory is in effect from 3 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday.
The updated forecast calls for rain to change to snow, with total accumulations of up to two inches. Winds will gust as high as 35 mph.
"Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute," the NWS said.
Snow will be heavy at times, with rates of around 1/2 to 1 inch per hour through mid-morning Tuesday. Visibility may be reduced to less than one-half mile at times.
A hazardous weather outlook is also in place for the Maryland portion of the Chesapeake Bay, Tidal Potomac River, and I-95 corridor through central Maryland, northern Virginia, and the District of Columbia, the agency said.
"A soaking rain may lead to a few isolated instances of minor flooding overnight," the NWS said.
