UPDATE: Weather Message from Harford County Schools

Harford County Public Schools closed due to icy conditions on Tuesday, Feb. 16.

Schools will be closed in Harford County on Tuesday, Feb. 16, according to Harford County Public Schools officials. Code blue employees should report at 11 a.m.

Roads were covered with a crust of slush, Harford County government officials reported Tuesday morning. Authorities advised drivers to delay travels.

A winter storm warning is in effect for Harford County until 10 a.m. with up to 0.25-inch ice possible from freezing rain, according to the National Weather Service, which said slippery roads were in the forecast until temps rise to the lower 30s Tuesday morning.

The Maryland State Highway Administration advised that there were isolated icy patches on roads, particularly on elevated surfaces.
