When Does School Start in Harford County?

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — The 2016–2017 school year starts in Harford County next week.

Students in grades kindergarten through 12 will return Thursday, Aug. 25.

Prekindergarten will start on Monday, Aug. 29, for Harford County Public Schools.

Before their pupils arrive, teachers are heading back to school as well. New teachers are reporting on Thursday, Aug. 18, and Friday, Aug. 19. Veteran teachers return Monday, Aug. 22, to Wednesday, Aug. 24.

For those attending Harford Community College, the fall semester starts on Monday, Aug. 29.

Once school starts, the first holiday is around the corner — students and staff will be off on Labor Day, which is Monday, Sept. 5.
