Where To Buy Christmas Trees In Harford County
If you want to buy a Christmas tree in Harford County, here are some local options.
HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Whether people are looking to buy their tree already cut or if they want to go and cut their own, there are plenty of options around Harford County.
Here are a few:
Bel Air Lions, Route 24 at Boulton Street across from Best Buy, Bel Air.
The Bel Air Lions have Fraser firs for sale near the Harford Mall. It costs $65 for any size tree. Credit cards are preferred, but cash or check will be accepted. Trees will be for sale from noon to 8 p.m. on Black Friday; 9 a.m.–9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; and 4-8 pm Monday to Thursday. Normally Friday hours are 2–8 p.m.

Deer Creek Valley Tree Farm, 3744 Ady Rd., Street.
Choose- and-cut trees come in a variety of species and sizes, including "extra-large" trees that are up to 16 feet tall, suitable for outdoor displays. White pine, Douglas fir, and Canaan fir are among the selection. Masks and social distancing are required. No roping or wreaths will be for sale as in previous years — only trees are for sale. Hours are 9 a.m.–4 p.m. from Friday, Nov. 27, through Sunday, Nov. 29; Saturday, Dec. 5, and Sunday, Dec. 6; and Saturday, Dec. 12, and Sunday, Dec. 13. Credit cards will not be accepted. Cash or check only.

Fritz Farm & Nursery, 1001 Hollingsworth Rd., Joppa.
Christmas trees will be available Friday, Nov. 27. Pre-cut Fraser firs range from 5 to 12 feet. They also have balled Christmas trees, including white pine and blue spruce and smaller potted evergreens for those who want to plant them after the holidays.
Hickory Hill Farm, 3123 Copenhaver Rd., Street.
The farm has pre-cut trees this year as it replenishes seedlings. Curbside pickup and delivery are available. Trees range from 6- to 8-foot Douglas firs for $54; 6- to 7-foot Fraser firs for $74; and 7- to 8-foot Fraser firs for $79. Add wreaths or roping for free local delivery. Hours are 5-7 p.m. Monday to Thursday; and 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Friday through Sunday. It's been open since Nov. 21.
Jarrettsville Nurseries, 1041 Holy Cross Rd., Street.
Opens at 9 a.m. Friday, Nov. 27, to Dec. 20.
People can cut their own trees or pick a fresh pre-cut tree near the Christmas Barn. Pre-cut trees start at $25. A food stand will be open Saturday and Sunday. A bonfire is available daily. Wagon rides are available but customers must wear masks to board and maintain social distance between families. Handwashing stations and sanitizer will be available, and saws will be disinfected after each use. Regular hours are 9 a.m.–5 p.m. weekends and 10 a.m.–5 p.m. weekdays.
Jones Christmas Tree Farm, 3500 Prospect Road (MD 543 at MD 646), Street.
Opens at 9 a.m. Friday, Nov. 27.
The farm offers the option of picking and cutting your own tree or selecting from pre-cut and "balled and burlap" trees. Trees are priced by the foot, and the farm has a selection of those 12-feet and up, including some that are 16 to 20 feet and up. Hayrides will be available to the farm, but customers must wear masks while riding, and there will be a limited number of riders at one time. Customers in the retail area and getting their trees balled must wear face coverings. Those in the field will not be required to wear face coverings unless within 6 feet of others.
Winterfarm, 4336 St Clair Bridge Road, Jarrettsville.
It opened for the season Nov. 21 and will be open 10 a.m.–4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 27.
The farm specializes in Fraser firs and also has Canaan firs, both of which are $79. Blue Spruce are $65m and Korean firs are $85. Pre-cut trees start at $20 and come in a range of sizes, including tabletop. Pre-cut Douglas and Fraser firs range from 7 to 10–12 feet tall.
At a concession building called the Cocoa Stop, people can get hot dogs, cupcakes, hot chocolate and s'mores kits. A bonfire will be burning for those who want to make s'mores. Well-behaved dogs are allowed but must be leashed.
Several measures have been taken due to the coronavirus: Carts and saws will be wiped after each use. Employees wear face coverings. Thanks to new registers, touching screens is not needed to pay. Patrons must wear face coverings inside. However, there will be a cashier stand and tree accessories outside so people do not have to go into the retail building.
Hours are 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Friday and Monday; 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; and Tuesday to Thursday by appointment.
