Winter Weather Advisory Issued For Multiple Maryland Counties
Several Maryland counties are under a winter weather advisory for snow on Monday, April 2.

BALTIMORE, MD — The Monday morning commute could be a snowy one for some. Several inches of snow may fall in parts of Maryland, according to weather officials.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory calling for 2 to 4 inches of snow in Carroll, Frederick, Baltimore and Harford counties. The highest amount is expected near the Mason-Dixon line, according to the winter weather advisory, which is in effect from midnight to 11 a.m. on Monday, April 2.
Drivers are advised to be extra careful, expecting limited visibility and snow-covered roads Monday morning.

Most of the snow is expected on grassy surfaces; but roads may become snow-covered Monday morning due to the moderate to heavy rate of snowfall expected, according to the winter weather advisory.
Snow may fall at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour, making the Monday morning commute treacherous, weather officials say.

In northeastern Maryland, Cecil County is under a separate winter weather advisory for 1 to 2 inches of wet snow between midnight and 1 p.m. on Monday. A wintry mix of rain and snow is expected from midnight to 3 a.m., followed by wet snow that will be heaviest from 5 to 10 a.m. before tapering off midday Monday.
Across Maryland, rain is expected to transition to a rain-snow mix overnight Sunday into Monday morning. Temperatures will be in the mid to low 30s overnight Sunday, and the high will be in the upper 40s Monday in central Maryland, according to the forecast, meaning snow will likely melt before Monday evening.
In western Maryland, a winter storm warning is in effect from 11 p.m. Sunday to 10 a.m. Monday calling for a total of 5 to 7 inches of heavy snow in Garrett County that will make travel very hazardous or impossible, according to weather officials. That warning is also in effect for southwestern Pennsylvania and northern West Virginia.
Allegany County is under a separate winter weather advisory from midnight to 11 a.m. Monday calling for 3 to 6 inches of wet snow. That particular advisory also applies to the eastern panhandle of West Virginia and the northern Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.
