Winter Weather Advisory Issued For Harford County
Harford County is under a winter weather advisory for snow on Tuesday, Jan. 29.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for much of Maryland, including Harford County. A winter weather advisory means snow will cause travel difficulties, covering roads and reducing visibility.
The advisory calls for a wintry mix of light rain and snow Tuesday morning turning to all snow in the afternoon. It will move northwest to southeast.
There may be 1 to 3 inches of snow in Harford County, according to the advisory, which also applies to Baltimore, Carroll, Frederick, Howard and Montgomery counties.

- The winter weather advisory for northwest Harford County is in effect from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Approximately 1 to 2 inches of snow are anticipated, with up to 3 inches possible in some areas.
- The winter weather advisory for southeast Harford County is in effect from noon to 10 p.m. About 1 inch of snow is expected to accumulate.
With nighttime temps dropping below freezing, any moisture or slush will freeze on untreated surfaces, according to the advisory. Drivers should use caution.
Wind chills are expected to stay below zero from Tuesday night through Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

State highway officials say that crews will be aggressively patrolling for icy spots.
Drivers should keep in mind that elevated areas like bridges, ramps and overpasses freeze first.
