Route 40 Cleared After Live Wires Fall: Officials
Part of US 40 in Harford County was closed to traffic Wednesday.

JOPPA, MD — Due to wires in the road, US 40/Pulaski Highway was closed in Joppa for about two hours Wednesday afternoon, officials said.
Route 40 was shut down between Joppa Road and Joppa Farm Road as a result of live wires, according to the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company.
BGE was on the way, authorities reported after 3 p.m.

The Maryland State Highway Administration reported all lanes were closed on Route 40 at Joppa Road after 3:30 p.m.
Officials said the incident had cleared by 5:30 p.m.
