With Makeup Days Used, School Officials Undecided on Other Potential Dates
The school system is one more day off from exceeding what was built into the calendar.
The closure of schools Tuesday may have been good news in the short term, but looking ahead, it could cause problems.
Six days were built into Harford County Public Schools' calendar in the event of inclement weather or other issues that canceled classes. Those days—April 1, May 20 and June 14–17—will now be in session for students.
But Manager of Communications Teri Kranefeld said a decision will be made for any more make-up days, should schools be closed again.

"The superintendent and his leadership team will be meeting to discuss possible options regarding any additional inclement weather days," she wrote in an e-mail.
Due to the six days off, the last day of kindergarten to 12th grade is scheduled to be June 17 while the last day for pre-kindergarten is scheduled to be June 15.

Schools are scheduled to be closed Feb. 21 for President's Day, April 20–22 and April 25 for spring break (April 22 is Good Friday) and May 30 for Memorial Day.
