Woman Airlifted after Darlington Shooting: Sheriff

The victim's boyfriend is in custody, Harford County Sheriff's Office reports.

A woman was flown to shock trauma Sunday after her boyfriend shot her in the arm in Darlington, according to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office. Officials said Sunday evening that the boyfriend was in police custody.

The sheriff’s office reported that the 43-year-old victim was shot in the upper arm Sunday morning in the 1500 block of Robinson Mill Road, then driven by another individual to the Darlington Volunteer Fire Company.

At 11:40 a.m., when deputies responded for a shooting call at the address on Robinson Mill Road, they learned the victim had left the scene, according to the report.

At the fire company, Darlington first responders stabilized the victim, who was then airlifted to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, according to the report.

She was being treated at shock trauma for injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, the report said.

Investigators determined that the victim’s boyfriend shot her in the upper arm with a shotgun, according to the report.

Following a brief search, deputies found the 46-year-old suspect behind the residence on Robinson Mill Road and took him into custody, the sheriff’s office reported.

The investigation is ongoing, according to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office.
