Woman Killed In Head-On Collision With Work Van In Harford County: Maryland State Police
A woman witnesses say was passing multiple vehicles in a passing zone collided head-on with another driver and died Tuesday, police say.
HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal crash that happened just before 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Forest Hill.
Around 10:25 a.m., troopers from the Bel Air Barrack were called to a reported motor vehicle collision on MD Rt. 23 (East West Highway) near the Morse Road bridge. According to a preliminary investigation, a Hyundai Accent was traveling east on Rt. 23 and passing multiple vehicles in a passing zone. Simultaneously, a Nissan work van was traveling west on Rt. 23 and collided head-on with the Hyundai, the State Police reported.
The woman driving the Hyundai was the only person in the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel. Her identity is being withheld pending next of kin notification. The 51-year-old man driving the Nissan van was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview for treatment. The road was closed for approximately three hours.
