Woman-Owned MD Business Expanding Operations In Harford County
Lufburrow & Company has purchased a 73,000-square-foot facility in Aberdeen for an advanced manufacturing capability for microelectronics.

ABERDEEN, MD — Lufburrow & Company announced plans to open a research, development and manufacturing facility.
The company has purchased a 73,000-square-foot facility at 1204 Technology Drive in Aberdeen – the former Battelle Eastern Science and Technology Center – where it is setting up an advanced manufacturing capability for microelectronics.
LufCo currently employs more than 100 workers in Maryland and expects to create 120 full-time jobs at this new facility, officials announced Thursday.

LufCo is a woman-owned small business comprised of creative engineers and business strategists. The company specializes in mission-critical systems engineering and strategic innovation to give the warfighter a decisive edge. LufCo supports a wide range of clients, including the Department of Defense, various state and federal agencies, private companies and nonprofits, the company stated.
“LufCo’s mission is to empower warfighters with actionable technologies and tools required to dominate the evolving battlespace,” said LufCo Chief Executive Officer Heather Couvillon Lufburrow. “LufCo is proud to partner with the state of Maryland and Harford County to continue our investment in developing a next generation advanced manufacturing capability to achieve this mission.”

To assist with project costs, the Maryland Department of Commerce is working to approve a $600,000 conditional loan through Advantage Maryland. The Harford County Office of Economic Development plans to provide a $60,000 grant to help the company complete infrastructure upgrades at the project site. LufCo also is eligible for various state and local tax credits including the Job Creation Tax Credit and the Enterprise Zone Tax Credit.

LufCo has two locations in Annapolis Junction.
