Woman Stabbed In Head At Gas Station, Aberdeen Attacker Convicted On Charges: Prosecutor
A woman has been convicted after prosecutors say she stabbed an Exxon customer in the head and knocked out the woman's teeth.
HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A 40-year-old Aberdeen woman has been convicted of several charges in connection to a stabbing that happened at the Exxon in Aberdeen on Oct. 27 shortly after 5:30 p.m.
Ieshia Smiley and another person walked up to a woman who was leaving the Exxon located at 7 N. Philadelphia Blvd. Smiley and her friend confronted the victim about $10, then began attacking the woman with a knife and brass knuckles.
The woman was stabbed in the head twice, suffered a contusion to her forehead and lost three teeth in the assault, according to the Harford County State's Attorney's Office.

The Exxon's video surveillance system captured part of the assault and three knives were recovered at the scene. Smiley has been convicted of first-degree assault, second-degree assault and conspiracy to commit first-degree assault following a two-day jury trial in the Circuit Court for Harford County.
Smiley faces up to 25 years for first-degree assault and 25 years for conspiracy to commit first-degree assault. The second-degree assault conviction will merge into the first-degree assault charge for sentencing. Smiley also faces a violation of probation for an unrelated first-degree assault charge. She will be sentenced May 26.

“The permanent injuries the victim sustained during this violent crime are deplorable and in Harford County, we will not tolerate injuries of any kind being perpetrated upon our citizens and especially not injuries of this magnitude," said State’s Attorney Alison M. Healey in a statement. "My office continues to demonstrate that we are aggressively pursuing violent offenders to remove them from our community. I commend the victim in this case for her courage to stand up against a defendant who committed a horrific crime against her by providing compelling testimony that was supported by the independent evidence, resulting in this significant verdict."
