• Maryland School Official Gets Five Years In $118K Theft Scheme Involving Funds For Low-Income Students (thebaynet.com) — A former Worcester County Public Schools assistant superintendent has been sentenced to five years in prison for stealing more than $118,000, including funds meant for low-income Title I schools, with help from investigators at the Maryland State Police Berlin Barrack. Prosecutors say she used a school credit card for personal purchases and a Berlin learning center, then falsified receipts, costing local elementary schools tens of thousands in support.
