Custom Interiors Options Wow Residents of The Grandview

Custom Interiors Coordinator Sarah Seifollahi shows off the design catalog and some of the kitchen finishes available.

Homes at The Grandview, an Erickson Senior Living community in Bethesda, Md., feature spacious floor plans, high-end finishes, and stunning views.

Although all floor plans are designed with functionality and modern style in mind, personal touches are what make residents truly feel at home.

"We knew that incoming residents would be interested in making additional enhancements before moving in, so we offer a range of options they can choose from," says Sarah Seifollahi, who serves as custom interiors coordinator for The Grandview.

Window treatments, backsplashes, and light fixtures are among the many options in the Custom Interiors catalog.

"It's easy for reservists to flip through and choose what they want. This makes the process even smoother and more convenient for them," she explains. "Then, we bring their choices to life!"

See for yourself

Seifollahi joined The Grandview in October 2024, bringing years of experience in interior renovation management. "Joining a brand-new community, I was excited to help the first residents design their dream retirement homes," she notes.

Seifollahi's office is one of the floor plans found at The Grandview--the Livingston.

"It looks just like a residence; it was not altered at all to look like an office," she explains. "So, when people come in for a consultation, there are already upgrades here for them to see in person."

During each consultation, Seifollahi often helps incoming residents consider what changes they will make before they move in as well as any they might like to make in the future.

"Sometimes, people are interested in replicating the styles they had in their former house. Others prefer to do something completely different, embracing this new chapter of their lives," she says. "No matter the case, I ask about favorite colors or textures they would like to incorporate. This helps me come up with suggestions."

Range of options

Seifollahi then points out options they might like in the catalog.

Custom Interiors selections are extensive. Window treatments, including shades, blinds, and draperies, are available in a variety of colors. In the kitchen, you can choose your backsplash, upgrade countertops, or add pull-out drawers in cabinets, for example, while your bathroom can be enhanced with a rainfall shower head. Custom closets, lighting fixtures, flooring options, paint colors, and more are also available.

"All pricing is in the catalog--transparency is the goal. We want residents to be fully informed, so they can make choices based on their style and budget," she says.

A collaborative approach

In fact, Seifollahi's favorite part of her job is working with residents in person.

"I love in-person meetings the most. It's great to see their excitement as they choose the elements that will go in their new home," she says. "I also enjoy overseeing the process from start to finish."

Seifollahi adds, "I'm the most detail-oriented person you'll meet. All my Ts are crossed and my Is are dotted, which I think gives residents confidence that what they want will be delivered."

Residents who worked with Seifollahi and selected enhancements have been thrilled with the results.

"It's one thing to see a backsplash tile in a catalog or a sample in my office, but when it's installed, their eyes really light up," says Seifollahi. "It's so rewarding!"

The next phase

Seifollahi is now working with future residents of Woodmont Terrace, the second building at The Grandview.

"We had an open house last year, where reservists of Woodmont Terrace got to tour the first building, Potomac Heights, to get a glimpse of what their future home may look like," she recalls.

"About half of those who attended came up to me after and started talking about all the things that they're planning to add to their homes."

She adds, "I'm glad to see that so many people are ready to customize their homes!"
