MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — The Bethesda North Marriott Hotel off Rockville Pike has been acquired by a Florida private equity firm.
Although the hotel was folded into the TMGOC Ventures investment portfolio, it will continue to operate and be managed by Marriott International.
The acquisition was complete in partnership with an institutional investor. A release issued by the Florida firm does not state the sale price for the grounds.
The 455-room property is located at 5701 Marinelli Road, minutes from the North Bethesda Metro and adjacent to the Montgomery County Conference Center.
“This acquisition reflects our continued conviction in the long-term fundamentals of the lodging sector and our strategy of deploying capital into high-quality assets at the right basis,” said Sunju Patel, co-founder and managing partner of TMGOC Ventures.
“We believe the market is at an inflection point for full-service hotels and group business, and this asset is exceptionally positioned to capture that upside as that momentum continues to build.”
Since 2017, the hotel has undergone nearly $16 million in capital improvements, according to the equity firm.
