BETHESDA, MD — Five people were hospitalized late Thursday after a car crash involving several vehicles took place near the Capital Beltway.
Pete Piringer, of the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service, said two adults suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the wreckage. However, he described the three teenagers as having traumatic injuries.
Authorities were alerted to the intersection of River and Burdette roads in Bethesda shortly before 9:30 p.m.
One of the cars tied to the crash rolled over with three teenagers inside.
By the time first responders arrived at the scene, all individuals had managed to pull themselves from their cars.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
