The Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service said first responders were alerted to Section B of the trail near the Potomac River just before 4:45 p.m. on Saturday.
The woman, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, was located after authorities conducted searches by water and land.
Officials did not provide further details on the extent of the woman's injuries.
Section B of the trail spans about 1.4 miles one way and is ranked by the National Park Service as a moderate trail that includes a few rock scrambles.
