BETHESDA, MD — A media services technician who worked at Walter Johnson High School is facing new charges in a case where he's accused of filming underage students on campus.
James Mulhern III, a 43-year-old from Clarksburg, was initially hit with a single felony charge of sex abuse of a minor. Now, court records show he's facing eight new counts of the same charge but for content filmed in 2015.
Charging documents revealed investigators uncovered 15 new videos from devices previously seized by police in April, Bethesda Magazine reported.
The new findings included video of girls changing with their underwear exposed, pornography-related searches that tied back to students, and dozens of images and screenshots of student profiles that showed "teen cleavage."

Earlier searches at the school and Mulhern's home, where authorities seized a multitude of electronics ranging from computers to cellphones and tablets.
Mulhern was first flagged to Montgomery County Police in April, after two students found a camera with a memory card containing video of girls changing their clothing.
The camera was found inside a control booth in the high school's theater. Video on the memory card showed Mulhern setting up the camera inside the changing room used by theater students.
Police said the school's principal identified Mulhern in the footage. It was later determined that the video had been filmed in 2018.
Court records show Mulhern was released on a $100,000 unsecured bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 21.
