BETHESDA, MD — Eight people were displaced over the weekend after a bedroom fire broke out at a Bethesda apartment building.
The fire was reported shortly at 1 p.m. at 4885 Edgemoor Lane, the site of The Edge Apartments complex.
Pete Piringer, of the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service said, said the fire was traced to the bedroom of an 11th-floor apartment unit.
No injuries were reported at the site, and the blaze was extinguished by the building's sprinkler system.
However, between the fire and water damage from the sprinklers, eight people across four apartment units were displaced.
Officials have not detailed the estimated costs associated with the damages or indicated what caused the bedroom fire.
An investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
