• Cookie chain Chip City shutters all locations, including in DC region (wtop.com) — Chip City has permanently closed all its cookie shops nationwide, including its Bethesda location, ending local access to the chain's popular treats. Customers holding Chip City gift cards or coupons can still redeem them at MidnighTreats in Arlington's Ballston Quarter through October 14, offering nearby residents one last chance to use any remaining balances.
